“History may not repeat but it rhymes”. I don’t know who to quote for that but its a good one. I love to study history but am not interested in forming opinions on Afghanistan, 9/11, who killed more people than who. History overwhelms it all. Woody Allen said “The history of the world is like: He kills me, I kill him, only with different cosmetics and different castings”. So it’s all the same stuff – it’s ephemeral.

Politics, wars – it’s all deeply saddening but you can’t fix it. Leave that to the ghouls in charge. And always remember that if you have no opinion on humanities follies, you’re free.
