Making Your Own Shoes

My partner dearest did a shoemaking course a couple of weeks ago. She made a gorgeous pair of dressy leather shoes and was overjoyed with the experience. Frankly when I first heard that she was going to take the course I thought that she would end up with a pair of shabby looking moccasins. But after 3 days she created something very special.

Her teacher, Rachel, is originally from the UK and now giving classes in Bangalow, NSW. With over 30 years experience she certainly knows her trade.

The art of shoemaking is just one of the many old crafts and trades that people are becoming more interested in. It enables us to create bespoke items that have heart and soul poured into them. And anything to see Fiona so happy is a bonus for me 🙂
